Bloomberg reported (Sept. 25, 2026) that President Trump again urged Volodymyr Zelenskyy, during their meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, to travel to Moscow for direct talks with Vladimir Putin, and that Zelenskyy refused, reportedly telling journalists he'd go 'on a missile/rocket' followed by a profanity. This report was independently picked up and cited by multiple outlets including Meduza, RT, Ukrainska Pravda, Khaama Press, Liga.net and others, all attributing it to Bloomberg sources 'familiar with Zelenskyy's position.' However, Zelenskyy's communications adviser, Dmytro Lytvyn, and the Ukrainian Presidential Office publicly denied the Bloomberg account, saying Trump did not ask Zelenskyy to go to Moscow and that the leaders instead discussed the possibility of future trilateral talks.
