Georgia's State Security Service said it is investigating social media posts claiming that service staff had urinated in and spat on food served to Russian tourists. The agency said the claims were false and were spread by foreign-controlled "bot accounts" on X. Georgia hosts large numbers of Russian visitors and relocated citizens, a politically sensitive issue since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Tbilisi presented the posts as an attempt to inflame tensions between Georgians and Russians.
