Cristiano Ronaldo announced on Thursday that he is retiring from international football, ending a 23-year career with Portugal, France 24 reported. The 41-year-old Al-Nassr forward leaves the national team with 234 caps and 146 goals, both world records. As captain, Ronaldo helped Portugal win Euro 2016 and two Nations League titles, in 2019 and 2025. The decision follows several weeks of tension with head coach Jorge Jesus after Ronaldo left the Portugal squad in September.
